As a survivor of abuse, I understand how difficult it can be to have a limited support network. If you are a survivor of abuse or in a financially disadvantageous situation (young, single, or otherwise unsupported) I would love to find a way to arrange payment with you, whether by barter, reduction in fees, or other means. All mothers deserve to have a doula at their birth and someone to help them establish their breastfeeding relationship, regardless of their ability to pay.
Available payment methods include:
Additionally, you have the option to file for reimbursement with your insurance company. To check your coverage, please call your insurance company (there is a number for “medical claims” on the back of your card) and use the codes #374J00000X for doula services and #174H00000X for breastfeeding education and support.
For more information on insurance reimbursement, DONA has a wonderful PDF sample letter that is available to send to your insurance company.
